How old does someone have to be to work with you?

I work with people ages 12 and up. If you need a child therapist you can call me and I can make recommendations to other professionals who work with children.

How do I get my teen to come and see you?

You can let them know they are going to interview me. They are the customer. They have to see if I am a person they feel they can talk to and relate to. It is their choice. I am working for them.

Have you worked with teens in the pas

Yes, I have worked with teenagers for the past 25 years. Young people are amazing. They are my favorite age group to work with. They have additional challenges today with Social Media that most of us simply did not have to deal with.

Why is therapy important for teenagers?

This is the time in life when they have so much to talk about and at the same time they work very hard to maintain their privacy. Being a teenager is hard even though we all went through it. This can be an embarrassing time and a confusing time. No matter how close they are with their family, often times speaking to an outside person is more appealing to them. It is important that they know they have a confidential place where they can share anything without fear of judgment. In a perfect world every teenager would have a therapist as a confidante.

Therapy is great for young people because they learn and develop skills at an age where their brain is still developing. In my experience things that young people learn in therapy creates a foundation for a skill set that they can use throughout their lives.
